Two B-1B Lancers Perform Low Flyover During Welcome Ceremony for Trump and Xi Jinping

U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping at Joint Base Andrews near Washington on September 23. During the welcoming ceremony, two U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer strategic bombers conducted a flypast over the area where the two leaders were standing.

While the loud rumble produced during the B-1Bs’ low pass drew notable attention, the ceremony also featured a 21-gun salute and a static display of six F-16 and six F-22 fighter aircraft. The B-1B Lancer is among the strategic bombers utilized by the U.S. Air Force for long-range conventional missions.
